The VoIP Experience™
It's possible for Hosted PBX solutions to be free. Some telecoms providers have the buying power, technical capacity, and in-house expertise to utilise existing infrastructure at minimal wholesale cost. Thanks to open-source software and freeware, such as the FreePBX Distro, subscriptions and licenses that carry monthly or annual fees can be avoided. We are committed to our "Subscription-Free" Hosted PBX, while being open and honest about how it's done. Thanks to advances in technology in recent years and, in particular, very low cost data centre connectivity, we are able to take a fresh approach to Hosted PBX, which has until now been dominated by resellers that lack the engineering expertise to fully support and manage complex technology, yet profit from someone else's multi-tenant solution.
Our ethos is simple: Make the product free and only charge for our time. We then go further by explaining how we are able to that. As an alternative to mainstream providers, we are committed to producing content for social media and websites that educate small businesses and charities, and hopefully some of our peers. In an industry dominated by private companies backed by multi-million pound investments, we believe telecoms has taken a wrong turn. Dial tone is the single most important thing, so we focus on developing solutions for the calls you make and the connectivity needed to make them happen. It might not be everyone's view and that's ok, if you want video calls and integration to software applications then you can pay for it, plenty of mainstream providers will take your money. There is a big price to pay and we aren't keen to do the same. We aren't saying business applications of all-kinds aren't important, some are even necessary. But we also know, for example, that a butcher doesn't cut hair. In the telecoms industry, we think mainstream providers should concentrate on what they're good at. ...
